HR barrage powers BH to clinching win

Hunter Mercer, 18, stole second base on moments before Cam Cauley’s two-run homer ignited a pivotal five-run, fifth inning that led Barbers Hill to a 12-3 win in Game 3 of the Class 5A Region quarterfinal series against Santa Fe Saturday at Sterling High School. The Eagles advance to play Lake Creek later this week. 

Barbers Hill broke out the big bats to the tune of four home runs as the Eagles soared to a 12-3 win over the Santa Fe Indians in Game 3 of their best-of-three Class 5A Region 3 quarterfinal baseball playoff series Saturday afternoon at R.S. Sterling High School.

The Eagles move on to the regional semifinals where Lake Creek awaits.
