A late rally fell just short as the Goose Creek Memorial girls basketball team dropped a tense, 49-48 home decision to Aldine Nimitz Thursday to wrap the 2021 part of the basketball calendar.

GCM (6-13) rallied from a 31-15 deficit at halftime to have a chance to win the game in the waning seconds before falling short.
