These days a chance of rain in the forecast rearranges people’s lives. Remember when it used to rain? We grabbed an umbrella and went about life normally. We still went to school. We drove in the rain.
Now, if the weatherman says there is an imminent chance of rain we treat it like a named-storm brewing in the Gulf of Mexico. Even more comical is the phone calls I get asking me if I think we should reschedule a fishing trip with a 30 percent chance looming.
