FREEPORT — The Sterling Rangers were so close to starting 2-0 this season but ultimately it came down to who scored the last point.

Brazoswood senior kicker Reid Mitchell accounted for eight of his team’s 20 points in the Buccaneers game against Baytown Sterling at Hopper Field and kicked the extra point on the winning score with 11 seconds left for the hosts to rally for a 20-19 win over Sterling Friday night.
