Before she went to her reward in heaven, it was one of my greatest joys to be married to the former Carol Eiland who was born and raised in Baytown.  We met after the deaths of our respective spouses; Carol was married to Tom Fitzmorris, another honorable fixture in Baytown.

Upon meeting, we were inseparable and, after a brief courtship, we married.  The 12 subsequent years can only be described as wedded bliss; we did everything together, including church and community activities.
