The United Methodist Church will continue to be a presence in the Baytown-Mont Belvieu area in spite of the recent departure of several of its congregations from the denomination — and the new church has some familiar faces.

Luis Ramirez will be the founding pastor of what is now called United Methodists of Baytown & Mont Belvieu. He was senior pastor of Cedar Bayou Grace UMC until the end of December. He is being assisted in the new endeavor by Associate Pastor Clayton Hall, who was associate pastor at Mont Belvieu First UMC until the end of the year.
