The Chambers County Health Department issued a statement Wednesday urging school districts in the county to “protect their staff and students by delaying in-person instruction until Sept. 8, 2020 (at the earliest).”

Local health authority Dr. W. Clay Brown warned that reopening now could cause widespread transmission of COVID-19 in the county.
