The City of Baytown was ready to test its new signal-timing system along city roads, including Garth, but Hurricane Nicholas delayed it, city officials said. 

In February 2016, the city went live with its Synchrogreen adaptive synchronization system. It contained software that continually adjusted signal times, which assisted traffic to flow smoother instead of having congestion, which plagued the road for years.
