A request to rezone 4.5-acres of land on Cedar Bayou Road was denied by council after nearby residents said they did not want potential unwanted businesses setting up shop across the street.

Director of Planning and Development Services Martin Scribner said the request entailed rezoning property on the north side of Cedar Bayou Road and from east and west of Fanestiel Road from a Mixed Residential at Low to Medium Densities and Neighborhood Serving Commercial zone to a General Commercial zone.
