With a growing number of persons spectating in on its virtual meeting Monday night, the Goose Creek CISD school board began with discussion on the potential name change of Robert E. Lee High School.

Board member Agustin Loredo noted that 175 viewers had signed in - and climbing - only minutes before the meeting started.

I'd like to correct something that the writer quoted me on. The first part of the quote you attributed to me, I was actually quoting Walter E. Williams from an essay he recently wrote. The second part of the quote that you attributed to me, I was actually quoting a REL social studies teacher from a letter he sent you guys. You missed the most important point I was trying to make last night. Would this name change materially change anything in the student body or the city. I will send my speech last night to the Letters to the Editor to ensure proper attribution to Walter E. Williams, Condeleeza Rice, the REL teacher. and myself.
