Citizens against changing the name of Robert E. Lee High School sat outside the Goose Creek CISD Administration Building Wednesday night, waiting on the board to decide if they were going to form a committee to investigate name changes or determine if the 92-year-old school’s name would change.

After a long night filled with high emotions, the Goose Creek board voted to form a committee to look into changing school names along with any cost associated with them. By a vote of 4-3, the district is keeping the name of Robert E. Lee High School.

Board President Jessica Woods explained what will happen with the committee.
