Newly suspended employees and their supporters gathered along the sidewalks bordering Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital Monday night protesting the health care system’s requirement that employees receive the COVID-19  vaccination — a requirement hospital administration said is for patient safety.

Jennifer Bridges, a nurse who worked at the Baytown facility, said she and others who had not complied with the mandate were on a two-week unpaid suspension and would be fired at the end of the suspension.
