Baytown city staff and elected leaders held and open house for residents of three recently annexed areas, inviting them to share questions and concerns as construction nears for the extension of water and sewer lines into the area.

All three areas were annexed in 2017 before state law was changed to make involuntary annexation of residential property more difficult.

The city missed the deadline, which was 2 1/2 years and therefore the properties that were involuntarily annexed should return to not being city of Baytown. Still to this day if I call 911, the dispatcher says I am outside of city limits. The election in November 2020 still showed I was out of city limits and I couldn't vote for city positions or propositions. They sure take my money for the high taxes.
