Opened in 1949, the Brunson was Baytown’s first post World War II moviehouse. Many Baytonians have fond memories of sitting in the plush seats and watching a Saturday matinee – back when Texas Avenue was downtown Baytown. Closed in 1982, the city acquired the old theater in August 1997. The Brunson is now a business incubator and visitors center. (Photo by Visit Baytown)
