Dramatic testimony on how the bodies of two teenagers were discovered in a murder that shocked Baytown was a part of the testimony during the first day of the trial for one of the suspects.

In Judge Randy McDonald’s 344th Court, opening statements were made Tuesday in the trial of Jose Juan Chavez, 21, one of the suspects in the deaths of Robert E. Lee High School students Alejandro “Alex” Chavez, 18, and 17-year-old Jarvis Morgan. The two teens went missing in February 2015, and their bodies were found two weeks later in the waters of Double Bayou in Chambers County.
