An artist rendition of San Jacinto Marketplace, which will one day replace the decaying San Jacinto Mall.

Baytown council members were eager to hear the latest on the proposed San Jacinto Marketplace from its owners and expressed some words of frustration about the slow development of what once was one of Baytown’s most beloved hot spots.

Alan Hassenflu, president and CEO of Fidelis Realty Partners, and Glenn Airola, Fidelis executive vice president, told council they now own the entire 104-acres of the mall property, including the Macy’s and JCPenney stores, and can now move forward with demolishing the buildings and constructing the San Jacinto Marketplace.
