Before the Goose Creek CISD board decided whether to change Robert E. Lee High School’s name, grievances against two board members were considered and then ultimately rejected.

Complaints were filed against trustees Shae Cottar and Agustin Loredo III, saying they showed bias on the renaming matter on social media prior to voting on the issue. Other allegations included making biased statements during radio interviews, donating money to pro-renaming GoFundMe sites, and posting provocative memes on Facebook sites.
