The Barbers Hill and Baytown Sterling boys track teams continued to do well against Class 6A competition at the Clear Falls Knights Relays last Wednesday.
Barbers Hill finished in fourth place, followed by Sterling in sixth against 23 schools that were predominantly larger 6A programs.
In the 1600 meter run, Sterling’s Brock Glasscock took first place and Tanner Moser finished in second. The Rangers Juan Hernandez came in fourth in the event.
Glasscock edged out Moser for second place in the 3200-meter run, while the Eagles Aubrey Gibson finished in fourth.
The Sterling 4x400 (1600-meter) relay team of O’Rian Bell, Irad Mixon, Jeremiah Reed and Caleb Smith took a third-place medal. Barbers Hill’s William Raymond took the top spot in the 110-meter hurdles.
Barbers Hill had some standout performances in the field events, as the Eagles Jaden Thrower earned first place honors in the triple jump, and Brady Landon placed second in the discus.
