Sterling grad bowls 839 series

David George, a 1978 Sterling grad now teaching in Nashville, Tenn., bowled an 839 three-game series Jan. 25 at Smyrna Bowl in Smyrna, Tenn.

Included were games of 259, 300 and 280. After making two spares in the first five frames, George bowled 20 straight strikes, left the 7 pin in the second frame of Game 3 and bowled 10 more strikes to finish.

In all, George, who carries a 221 average, bowled 33 strikes and three spares.

The son of Baytonian Sharon George, David lives in Murfreesboro, Tenn., with his wife Barbara and daughter Tiffany. He teaches second grade at Glengarry Elementary School in Nashville and is Sunday School superintendent at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brentwood, Tenn.
