Deborah Jane Mercer Pond

Deborah Jane Mercer Pond, 54, of Highlands, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at home.

Deborah was born on August 21, 1955 in Baytown, Texas to the late Raymond Mercer and Margaret Danek Mercer.

Deborah was a life long resident of the area and worked at Scarborough Drug Store for nearly 25 years. Deborah would talk for hours on the phone with her friends and family and along with her husband of 36 years, Leon, they cared for numerous dogs, cats and birds throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Margaret, brother Louis Lee Mercer, and brother-in-law Robert A. Coleman.

Deborah is survived by her husband Leon Pond of Highlands, sister Shirley Coleman of Splendora, brother Robert Mercer and wife Kathy of Highlands, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She is also survived by her prized pets; dogs, Bingo, McKenzie, and Bridget, cat Erica, and bird, Tweety Bird.

In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made in Deborah’s Memory to the Houston SPCA at 900 Portway Drive Houston, TX 77024-8022.
