BCA girls win Pioneers’ slow dance

They couldn’t run and gun like they wanted to, but Baytown Christian’s girls still got it done on their homecourt Tuesday night.

Jessy Saenger scored a game-high eight points to lead the BCA girls to a 22-14 win over Lutheran South in a slowdown game initiated by the visiting Pioneers.

The score was 12-3 in favor of BCA at halftime.

Sara Davis and Breanna Simpson each added six points for BCA, which improved to 3-2 on the season.

The Bulldogs will play today at 6 p.m. at Houston’s Second Baptist School.

Sterling girls down Crosby 53-46

Sterling’s Lady Rangers got 12 points each from Denise White and Keke Jackson in a 53-46 win over Crosby Tuesday night

Jess Felder and Jabrina Hopkins each had 11 points on the night for the Sterling girls.

The Lady Rangers are set to play in the American Bank of Texas Tournament in Marble Falls this weekend. Their first game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. tipoff Thursday against Wylie.

They will return home Monday when they host Westbury Christian at 6 p.m.

Lady Eagles romp past Cleveland

CLEVELAND – Kendall Shaw scored 19 points and Paris Carter 18 to lead the Barbers Hill Lady Eagles to an 85-35 win over Cleveland Tuesday night.

Shannon Evans and Jasmine Carter scored 12 and 10 points, respectively for Barbers Hill, which improved to 3-0.

The Lady Eagles play at Port Neches-Groves Monday and at Beaumont West Brook Tuesday night.

Eagles win opener against Nederland

NEDERLAND — The Barbers Hill boys basketball team beat Nederland 32-27 Tuesday night.

The Eagles are set to return to action Monday at 7:30 p.m. when they host Cy Ranch.
