Philip Warren Cumbie
Philip Warren Cumbie, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather; born September 7, 1923 in Richmond, Virginia to Berkley and Lottie Mae Cumbie; passed from his earthly life on Saturday, November 14, 2009 in Crosby, Texas.
Philip has been a resident of the Crosby area for sixty-six years, he loved to go fishing and camping, as well as boating when he could; but most of all he loved his family, especially his daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending as much time with them as possible.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Berkley & Lottie Mae Cumbie; brother, Berkley “Doc” Cumbie; sisters, Jean King & Joyce Ann Almeida.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Beuana Cumbie; daughter, Phyllis Ann Baker; grandchildren, Stephanie George & husband John, Sammy E. Baker Jr., Philip Baker & wife Brandi, Ethan D. Baker, Lindsey McClain & husband Charlie, Brittani Starkey & husband Wayne; great-grandchildren, Gabby, Kayla, Kylie, McKenzie, Clay, Jadeyn, John-Tyler, Aspen, Carlie, and Aveyn; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be on today, November 18, 2009 from 6-8pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, TX 77562.
Funeral Services are Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 2pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home with Doctor Ronnie Trice officiating.
