Barbers Hill took on the Ozen Panthers Tuesday evening, hungry for a win in their playoff debut.
The Eagles were on the losing end of a hard fought match at Lee College, however, the final score being 3-2 Ozen, 15-10 in the fifth game.
A suspenseful and perhaps pivotal moment in the match came when Panther A’lexus Brannon went down with an injury midway through the fourth game. She was down several minutes and did not return.
The Eagles’ backs were against the wall after that and managed to win in it to send it to the fifth period by a score of 25-20.
Ozen then played hard in the final game and made up for the loss of their fallen teammate.
After being down early in the period, the Panthers scored eight unanswered points and never looked back.
It was a close match throughout.
Ozen won a close one to start it off with a score of 25-22. Each team was trading points left and right and it seemed like that all evening.
The Hill tied it up in the second game, this one a little more decisive than the first, 25-17.
Eagle Kirsten Terry led the way in this game, getting six of her 16 kills on the night.
Ozen was able to win the third but only by a thread as they edged the Lady Eagles 26-24.
