Thomas “Tommy” William Nelson

Thomas “Tommy” William Nelson, was born on November 9, 1936 in Waller, Texas to Bert and Viola Nelson and passed from his earthly life on October 27, 2009 in Houston, Texas surrounded by his family and with his wife by his side.

Thomas or “Tommy” by his family and friends has been a part of the Highlands, Crosby & Houston area for most of his life, where he raised his family. Thomas loved music, camping, and fishing with his family and playing his guitar around the campfire.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Viola Nelson; brother, Donald Ray Nelson; niece, Suzanne Anderson.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years Janet Nelson of Houston, Texas; sister, Hazel Anderson of Baytown, Texas; brother, B.J. Nelson and wife Jean of Houston, Texas; brother, James Nelson and wife Marjean of Keller, Texas; daughter, Melissa Miley and husband Johnnie of Highlands, Texas; grandson, Mathew Miley of Highlands, Texas; son, James Nelson of Las Vegas, Nevada; son, John Nelson of Las Vegas, Nevada; granddaughter, Brianna Nelson of Las Vegas, Nevada; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 5-8PM at Sterling-White Funeral Home 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, TX 77562.

Funeral Services are Friday, October 30, 2009 at 2 PM at Sterling-White Funeral Home with Reverend Jamie Lea officiating. Burial will follow at Sterling-White Cemetery.
