• A garage was burglarized somewhere in the 6000 block of Sandy Creek sometime between 4:00 and 5:30 a.m. Thursday. Taken was a portable air compressor, and a weed trimmer valued at $450.
• Police were dispatched to the 900 block of N. Pruett in reference to a burglary. The victim said an unknown actor entered his residence between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday and took his wallet. Credit card transactions were made the same day at two local stores.
• A theft was reported in the 1900 block of Mockingbird.
• A vehicle was burglarized sometime at night near the 3000 block of Sandpiper. Approximately $1500 worth of property was taken from inside the vehicle.
• A Baytown woman reported that someone had taken a ring from her dresser sometime Tuesday morning.
• Employees of a local business in the approx. 6200 block of Garth reported seeing a suspected shoplifter leaving the store with an unpaid item. A description of the suspect was given by employees and officers apprehended the suspect a few blocks away. The unpaid item was returned to the business and the suspect was transported to Baytown Jail for theft.
Baytown police assisted Chambers County deputies in a pursuit that came into town on Highway 146. The suspect exited and traveled north on Garth Road into the parking lot of 24 Hour Fitness. The suspect then drove to the Trestles Apartments, 3403 Garth Road, where he lost control of his car and struck a parked truck. The driver fled from his vehicle on foot but was located after a short foot chase and taken back to Chambers County where charges were filed.
