• Baytown police were dispatched to the 3600 block of Garth Road Wednesday after a witness called to report seeing a man a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt or coat and blue jeans breaking into a business. According to police reports, nothing was taken.
• A vehicle was burglarized in the 2900 block of West Baker Road and a computer was taken between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.
• A green parakeet, two Weed Eaters and a brown birdcage were stolen from a building in the backyard of residence in the 3300 block of Wisconsin Street between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
• An employee at a business in the 2200 block of North Main Street reported detaining a man for shoplifting.
• A 2008 camouflaged utility vehicle was stolen from the 1700 block of Fort Worth Street between 7:30 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Wednesday. According to police reports, the offender allegedly used discarded railroad ties and placed them over a ditch to push the utility vehicle off the property.
• A home in the 100 block of West Wright Avenue was burglarized and approximately $400 in jewelry was stolen.
• An employee of a business in the 1700 block of Garth Road reported seeing a woman conceal clothing in her purse and attempt to leave without paying.
• A woman reported someone stole the front and rear license plates off of a red Chevrolet Aveo while it was parked in the 1000 block of Northwood Drive.
Between 6 a.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday, Baytown police wrote 29 offense reports and handled incidents that included; four burglaries; one assault; seven thefts. Officers also arrested 15 people for charges coming out of other jurisdictions and handled 13 traffic accidents.
