Police said someone forced their way into the Taqueria Arandas, located in the 2300 block of Garth Road, about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday and stole about $250 worth of quarters from a gambling/vending machine. The burglar(s) caused about $700 worth of damage to the restaurant.
Dog gone
A resident in the 600 block of Meadowglen told police Monday that someone stole her dog from the backyard at about 1:30 p.m. The stolen pooch is described as a longhaired Chi-huahua weighing about six pounds. It is white with red spots.
Gum gone
Someone stole a gumball machine filled with gum and coins from the Kroger store located in the 4500 block of Garth Road, police said. The theft occurred sometime between Sept. 16 and this past Tuesday. Loss is $1,000.
Someone stole a generator worth $800 from the open garage of a home in the 4700 block of Country Club View between 3 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
A residence in the 2700 block of Cedar Bayou was burglarized between 4:45 p.m. and 7:51 p.m. Tuesday. A computer was among property stolen from the home. Total loss is about $1,889, police said.
-Two Baytown men were arrested in the 800 block of Market Street about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday when police stopped the vehicle they were riding in for a traffic violation then found one of the men in possession of crack cocaine.
-Two men were arrested for possession of cocaine after being detained for public intoxication by a Baytown detective while in the 3400 block of North Highway 146 about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
-Police said $800 worth of property was stolen from a vehicle that was burglarized between 3-6 a.m. Tuesday while parked at an apartment complex in the 3300 block of Rollingbrook.
-Someone broke into a car early Sunday while it was parked at an apartment complex in the 3400 block of Garth and stole $577 worth of property, police said.
-Approximately $35 worth of property was stolen from a vehicle that was burglarized while parked in the 3900 block of North Main, according to a Tuesday report.
-Someone burglarized a truck while it was parked outside a motel in the 5200 block of Interstate 10 Monday night and made off with approximately $10,500 worth of property.
-A purse was reported stolen from the back seat of a vehicle that was left unlocked while parked at an apartment complex in the 6000 block of Garth Road Tuesday. The crime occurred between 6 and 8:45 p.m.
Between Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, Baytown police wrote 42 offense reports and investigated incidents that included: one assault, four burglaries of buildings, eight vehicle burglaries, one disorderly conduct case, a robbery, seven theft cases, and five miscellaneous cases.
Officers were called to seven traffic accidents during that time period. Related injuries were reported at two of those accidents.
