Baytown police said an unidentified black man tried to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at a truck stop located in the 6800 block of Thompson Road about 10 a.m. Sunday. The man ran away when he realized police were being called to the scene.
A resident on East Republic told police someone came into the residence between 3:30-10 a.m. Sunday and stole items that included several cell phones and cash. Loss is estimated at $635.
• Two windows were broken out of a building in the 1000 block of West Baker Saturday. Loss is estimated at more than $400.
• Police are looking for a four-door, gold BMW that fled the scene of an accident that occurred at the intersection of Harvard and West Lobit about 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
• Someone broke into an apartment in the 4600 block of Quail Hollow about 1:15 p.m. Saturday and stole $650 worth of property.
• Police said several businesses in the 2300 block of North Main Street suffered a loss when someone shot out their front windows late Friday or early Saturday.
Auto theft
• Someone stole a blue 1989 Chevrolet pickup truck from the area of North Main and East Lobit, police aid.
• A maroon, GMC Yukon was stolen from the mall parking lot in the 6900 block of Garth Road between 3 p.m. and 7:55 p.m. Saturday.
• Someone stole $335 worth of items from a vehicle that was burglarized Friday night or early Saturday while parked in the 1800 block of Mississippi.
• Police said someone broke into a vehicle parked at the Chili’s restaurant at I-10 and Garth between 3:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday and stole about $800 worth of property.
• Someone popped the lock of a vehicle parked in the 2200 block of Massey Tompkins about 12:28 a.m. Sunday and made off with about $900 worth of property, police said.
• Personal property was stolen from a vehicle that was burglarized between midnight and 2:15 a.m. Sunday while parked in the 1900 block of North Pruett Street.
• A radio worth $550 was reported stolen during the burglary of a vehicle that occurred late Saturday or early Sunday while it was parked at an apartment complex in the 3400 block of Garth.
Between Saturday and Monday mornings, Baytown police wrote 69 offense reports and investigated incidents that included two assaults; two auto thefts; four burglaries of buildings; seven vehicle burglaries; four criminal mischief cases; six disorderly conduct cases; two driving while intoxicated cases; an aggravated robbery; nine thefts; and 13 miscellaneous cases. Officers also worked 22 traffic accidents. Related injuries were reported in four of those accidents.
