Cheers:
To Ody the pit bull, who saved his owner Cody Thomas’ life last week when he mauled a man who was trying to stab Thomas during a fight. Pit bulls often get a bad rap for their vicious reputation, and while in some cases it’s well deserved, this is an example of how loyal these dogs can be.
To K.M. “Fat Mac” Williamson who has started collecting bicycles yet again to hand out to needy children at Christmas. This is a homegrown effort that Williamson has been part of for quite some time in the community, and his continual generosity is a testament to his character.
To Julie Chambers Bishop, who recently graduated from Lee College. Bishop overcame Tourette’s syndrome on her journey to her diploma. Bishop showed her children, and the whole community, that if you put your heart into something you believe in, you can overcome anything.
Jeers:
To Darrell Dead Dunn, the principal of an east Houston Christian Academy. Dunn is accused of molesting one of his students. This is deplorable behavior for such a figure of authority.
