The Thanksgiving holiday will make for an abbreviated schedule for high school basketball teams this week, with several local teams playing on back-to-back nights to get games in.
Crosby’s boys play at Sterling tonight at 7 p.m., the first of two games in as many days for the Cougars.
Coach Justin Reese’s team hosts Texas City at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Crosby’s girls also play Monday and Tuesday, Lee’s girls play Tuesday and Wednesday and Sterling’s girls play Monday and Wednesday.
Sterling’s Lady Rangers host Westbury Christian at 6 p.m. Monday and Humble Christian Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
Lee’s girls host Huffman Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and Cypress Woods Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
Lee’s boys host Pasadena Rayburn at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, while Barbers Hill is home against Santa Fe Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
While Sterling’s boys opened their season with a pair of wins over Sam Rayburn and Klein Oak last week, Lee’s boys had a rocky baptism, going 0-5 at the McDonald’s Invitational in Pasadena.
While the Ganders lost by more than 30 points each to Tomball and Houston Jones in Thursday’s opening action, things were much closer Friday against South Houston (43-39) and Rayburn (58-47) and Saturday’s game against Pasadena High (54-47).
