BCA clinches playoff berth

Baytown Christian Academy got a much-needed dose of life support for its playoff hopes in a 47-32 win over Galveston O’Connell Friday night. The win moved the Bulldogs into fourth place in TAPPS 4-III and clinched a playoff spot, the second in the history of the school.
Senior running back Frank Frazier had a monster game with 16 rushes for 156 yards and six touchdowns. Luke Davis completed 12 of his 16 passes for 188 yards and one touchdown. His favorite target on the night was senior Chris Nightengale who had four receptions for 151 yards and one touchdown.
O’Connell and BCA entered the game tied for fourth place in the district with a 1-3 record. Bay Area Christian is first in the district with an undefeated record. Faith West Academy is second and Beaumont Legacy is third in the district.
BCA will wrap up the regular season when it hosts Mount Carmel Friday night at 7:30 p.m. The Bulldogs probable first round opponent in the playoffs will be defending state champion Austin Regency.
