Chance Casey scored three touchdowns Friday night as Crosby powered past Huffman 42-0 to move into a tie for the District 21-4A lead with Galena Park, which was upset by Smiley.

The Cougars are now 7-2 for the season, 5-1 in district.

Casey rushed seven times for 131 yards, scoring from four and 16 yards out in the first quarter. He added a 60-yarder in the final period to cap the scoring.

After Casey gave Crosby a 14-0 lead after one quarter, quarterback Duran Starks scored on a two-yard run to make it 21-0 at the half.

Crosby had another two-touchdown period in the third, with Starks passing 12 yards for a touchdown to Chris Murphy and Kyle Miller scoring on a two-yard run.

Starks passed for 146 yards and coupled with Crosby’s ground total of 348 yards, the Cougars had 494 yards of total offense.

Meanwhile, their defense held Huffman, 2-7, 1-5, to just 45 total yards, 37 on the ground.
