A Barrett Station man was shot and killed in his home by four men looking for drugs early Thursday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

At around 3:30 a.m., deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a home invasion in the 200 block of Reuben White Drive, near Crosby-Lynchburg Road.

When they arrived about seven minutes later, they found that Eric Arline, 26, had been fatally shot.

Another man, who was staying in the house, suffered a grazing wound and was transported to LBJ Hospital, according to Sgt. James Parker.

According to investigators, Arline’s wife said that four armed men forced their way into the house and demanded drugs and money.

When Arline told the men that there was not money or drugs in the home, he was shot, according to the wife, who was unharmed.

Parker said that the suspects searched the house but found no drugs or money. They then stole Arline’s car and fled the scene, according to the press release.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division at 713-967-5810 or call 713-221-6000.
