Shane Lee Jeffrey
Shane Lee Jeffrey, 32, of Huffman, passed from this life, May 7, 2004. Shane was born in Baytown, June 24, 1971.
Shane was employed with All Tech Inspection as a Mechanical Inspector. He was a loving husband and wonderful father. He had an infectious personality, a big heart, was very outgoing and giving. He loved the outdoors, loved being around water, was an avid golfer both as a player and spectator. His personality and ability to open up to people made him many friends in his lifetime.
Shane will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Shane is preceded in death by his aunt, who was like a second mother to him, Jackie Hanks and grandmother, Valley Haufpair.
Shane leaves behind his loving wife, Melissa Jeffrey; daughter, Autumn Jeffrey; his “soon arriving” twins, Jayda and Shane Jeffrey, all of Huffman; father, Roy Jeffrey and wife Beverly of Dayton; mother, Patsy Simms of Newton; brother, J.J. DeVersa and wife Aurora of Houston; sisters, Dallas Hill, USCG and Waco Jeffrey, USCG both of Petaluma, CA , and Trudy Hanks of Newton. Many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends also survive to share this loss.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm today, Thursday, May 13, 2004 at Sterling White Chapel in Highlands. Burial to follow at White Cemetery in Highlands. Visitation was Wednesday, May 12, 2004 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at Sterling White Chapel.

Joseph Franklin Campbell
Joseph Franklin Campbell, 43, was born October 12, 1960 in Phoenix, Arizona to Dean and Vera Campbell. Baytown was home, and he graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School in 1979. He joined the Navy in 1984 to serve his country in Iraq and Iran. Once out of the service he began working for Brand Coffee as a supervisor. Joe’s favorite things were coaching fast-pitch softball for girls in Crosby, TX and restoring old cars. He was loved by all who knew him. He was a great father and friend. He passed away at Memorial Herman Hospital after a motorcycle accident on May 6th in Kemah.
Preceding him in death was his sister Malinda Campbell; father, Dean Campbell; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Briggs, of Baytown and Chester Campbell, of Waterford, Ohio. He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Campbell; son, Chad Gorball; mother, Vera Campbell, of Baytown; brothers, Chris Campbell and wife, Debra, of Crosby, and Mike Campbell and wife Teresa, of Ooltewah, Tenn.; sister, Pam Ledet, of Kingwood, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Shelia Johnson and Mary Campbell.
His family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2004 at L.A. Crespo Funeral Directors, 6123 Garth Road. Service of remembrance will be 11 a.m. Saturday at L.A. Lauren Elizabeth Cooper
Lauren Elizabeth Cooper, 21, of Baytown was born May 2, 1983 in Baytown and passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2004 in Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. She was a 2001 graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School, attended Lee Junior College, and was currently a student at Baylor University, where she was on the Dean’s List. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and served as an Ambassador for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Despite a lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis, she never let it get in the way of living her life to the fullest. What she enjoyed most was spending time with her nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Joyce Cooper and Thad Cooper and brother Jason Thad Cooper and is survived by her parents, Larry and Laurie Cooper of Baytown; brother and sister-in-law, Brodie and Naomi Cooper of Baytown; grandparents, Gordon and Emma Lou Laird of Baytown and Fern Cooper of Baytown; cousin and best friend, Leslie McDaniel of Sugar Land; nephews, Jake Anthony Cooper and Timothy Hunter Cooper; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, May 14, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Tignor officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Cooper, Jeff Laird, Jonathan Laird, Kolt Daniel, Larry Kovalcik, and Bill Black Jr.
Lauren’s family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses that she’s encountered over the years at Texas Children’s Hospital and more recently at Cook’s Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at the Texas Children’s Hospital P.I.C.U. for going above and beyond the call of duty during the last leg of her battle. Also, a special thanks to the faculty and staff of Baylor University for their support and encouragement.
