Justin Jones ran for 115 yards and a touchdown, and Jon Garey caught a pair of touchdown passes as Deer Park rolled to a 42-0 victory over Pasadena at Memorial Stadium on Friday.
The Deer allowed just 109 rushing yards and 129 passing yards but did not let the Eagles into the end zone.
Leading 21-0 after three quarters, the Deer tacked on three fourth-quarter rushing touchdowns — a 19-yarder by Jones, and 1-yard runs by Chris Fields and Brent Fritsch.
Deer Park quarterback Stephen Johnson was 8-of-14 passing for 136 yards. He connected with Garey on a 17-yard TD pass in the first quarter, then on a 28-yard toss in the third quarter.
In between, Joel Henson ran in a second-quarter touchdown from 18 yards away. Henson finished with 60 yards on just six carries.
Pasadena actually had more first downs than Deer Park — 16-15 — and the Deer hurt themselves with 13 penalties for 110 yards. But Deer Park intercepted two passes — one each by Chase Smith and David Ramirez — and recovered a fumble and did not turn the ball over.
