Lady Rebels finish fourth at tourney

The Lee College Lady Rebel volleyball team finished its season with a fourth-place finish at the Region XIV tournament in Tyler.

Lee (20-13) made it to the third day of the tournament beating Laredo 3-2 (25-18, 18-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-11) on Friday before falling to Navarro 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-17) later that day.

Saturday, the Lady Rebels shocked the No. 9 Trinity Valley CC squad 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-17) and saw their season end the following day, losing to Panola.

“I am super proud of the hard work and growth we’ve made this season,” Lee head coach Danielle Essix said via the team’s Twitter account.

Rebs open season with two wins

The Lee College Rebels basketball team rolled to two opening wins over the weekend. 

Lee (2-0) defeat Lone Star-Tomball 138-64 on Friday before pulling away for a 95-83 win over Baton Rouge CC Saturday.

Both games were played at Lee College.

The Rebels played host to Lone Star-Kingwood Monday night.
