Two weeks after Tri Danley left for his hometown of Seminole, the Barbers Hill athletic department found his replacement in leading the girls basketball program.

Saturday, athletic director Tom Westerberg announced via his Twitter account that the new Lady Eagles’ coach will be Bryan Harris who led Manvel to a Class 5A state title in 2014 while ending Duncanville’s 105-game winning streak in the process.

This past season, Manvel finished 27-4, losing in the Region 3 finals.

Harris is a graduate of the University of Tennessee where he also was a member of the Lady Volunteers practice team while they were coached by Pat Summitt.

Harris resides in Missouri City with his wife, Cher and his daughter, Kenneday and nephew, Gregory.

“I am super excited, I came from a great place and I am going to a great place,” Harris said. “I get to coach at one of the most historical places in the state of Texas.”
