Members of the Barbers Hill football team lift weights as they take part in the team’s offseason program. The Eagles along with Class 6A and 5A schools have had their season pushed back a month as coaches adjust to the UIL’s recent announcement.

There will be a sports season for state high schools if the COVID-19 virus stops its current momentum of putting America on pause.

The UIL announced earlier this week that Classes 4A-1A would start  practices for football, volleyball, cross country and team tennis on Aug. 3 with the first games set for dates ranging from Aug. 10 to Aug. 24.
