Barbers Hill softball player Kaitlyn Cooper has enjoyed a strong summer, hitting .430 while throwing out six base runners splitting time between catcher and third base for the Texas Dirt Divas.

Two years ago, it was Angleton in a classic Region 3 finals series and last spring it was this little thing called COVID-19 that ended the Barbers Hill softball team’s seasons in inglorious fashion.

After losing to Angleton, the girls came back in February with a loaded roster and dreams of winning that elusive Class 5A state title game, but the pandemic hit, and they would never get that chance.
