V-ball loses in 4 sets

The Barbers Hill volleyball season ended Friday in a 3-1 (25-21, 17-25, 25-20, 25-20) against Shadow Creek at Alvin High School.

“We faced some insane competition that only made you better,” Barbers Hill head coach Kristin Goodman said. “I wish we could have been the one facing Friendswood on Tuesday, but I told them to keep their head up because they had one heck of a season.”

Barbers Hill (24-22) was led by Trinity Hennigan (nine kills, 14 assists, 20 digs), Kylee Kejonen (six kills, four aces, three blocks), Kelsi Wingo (five kills, 18 assists) and Jordan Burnett (five kills, 13 digs).

“We started off very strong and had a four-point lead 20-16 late in the first game, but Shadow Creek stepped their offense up and stole the first set from us,” Goodman said. “The third set we started down and had to play catch up and it was too little too late when we started rolling. We made several errors in this set, letting balls drop that we usually don’t.”

Barbers Hill fell in the fourth set despite an early lead.
