The Baytown Little League’s Major team saw its dream of a possible trip to the sectional tournament end in the District 14 East Zone contest Wednesday night in Texas City.

The hosts jumped out early and rolled to an 11-1 win over Baytown who will finish its campaign in the consolation bracket, which began Thursday in a game against Island.

“The boys tried their best to get another win to take another step closer to the championship,” manager Juan Morales said. “We had bases loaded twice, but just could not bring them home. We had great pitching from Genaro Silva and couple of defensive plays but not enough to win.

“After beating Dickinson on Monday, the boys knew they can compete with any team out there. Texas City team was no different, but too many errors.”
