With an entire year to think about, and prepare for a team that kicked them while they were down, the Baytown Christian Academy Bulldogs exacted some revenge in a 50-0 win Friday night at Bulldog Field.
The defensive effort held Brazosport Christian to -29 yards of offense. With 4:30 left in the third quarter, mercy was shown. BCA led by the required 45 points to easily cruise to a second convincing win of the season.
The game was never in doubt. The Bulldog defense was led by linebacker Matthew Pate and the duo of Jaden and Jaren Jefferson. Brazosport Christian was limited to a single first down. BCA recorded seven sacks, a safety, and a Jordan Luke scoop and score after Jaden Jefferson stripped the ball on a running play.
“I don’t think anyone will ever score on us,” BCA HC Jeromey Anderson said, when the stellar play of his defense was brought up.
“We could have been done early. I have to extend the games to get good work. We are not about getting it over by half. We are building a serious depth chart. I had freshman Ethan Flukinger at quarterback for five snaps along with a freshman O-lineman and a sophomore center. We have 22 players so we are getting good work for all of them and preparing for the future” Anderson added.
QB RJ Washington had two passing touchdowns both to Jaren Jefferson.
Bryce Gillam led the rushing attack with three touchdowns, to go along wit Jordan Luke’s two rushing scores and fumble recovery for a score.
BCA will hit the road this week looking to extend its record to 3-0 at 7 p.m. Friday at Covenant Christian. Brazosport will look to get its season on track, when it travels to Brazosport.
