The Lee College basketball team is surging out of a slump.

The Rebels knocked off Coastal Bend 82-64 Saturday night to move into a tie for second place in the south zone of Region XIV with a 13-7, 4-5 record. It was the third win in a row for Lee College after starting region play 1-5.

Alonzo Linton scored 26 points on 9 of 13 shooting to lead the Rebel effort. Keontae White came off the bench to notch 17 points and six assists while Max Armer had 11 points.

Lee College will have an opportunity to add to the win column Wednesday night when it hosts Victoria College at 7 p.m. The Pirates are in their first year of Region XIV competition and still seeking their first win.
