Under the leadership of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Texas has become of the home of six mass shootings over the last five years killing a total of 81 using high capacity clips and military style weapons. This death toll include children, high school students, shoppers, worshipers and police officers. Abbott has signed bills that weaken our current gun laws, refused to address background checks, and allows Texans to dress up like soldiers carrying military style weapons in the open.

If you think Greg Abbott is going to stand up and call for controlling the ownership of these weapons of wars you really haven’t been paying attention. His love of guns is greater than the lives of your family, friends, children, and our police officers.

"The new laws, signed by Republican Gov. Greg Abbott in June, will make it easier for Texans to have guns in schools, places of worship, foster homes where children live and apartments." How exactly did this change in gun laws incite crazy people to kill others? How did the change in gun laws put more guns in the hands of people who steal them? Guns in churches, schools and foster homes simply gives the administrators the right to arm themselves to stop the very violence you claim Abbott has fomented. Not true in my book.

Per capita in Texas more people probably choke to death on food every year than die from mass shootings. So, based on that logic, we should only let people eat by themselves after they have passed a background check to make sure they understand the dangers of food and have a class explaining hygiene and safety to meet future government standards of food consumption while eating solo.

“Abbott has signed bills that weaken our current gun laws, refused to address background checks, and allows Texans to dress up like soldiers carrying military style weapons in the open.”

I think I covered the first two complaints quite well and this third one is so preposterous, I will simply not respond to it.

The last point I would like to counter with is your real purpose as a member of the Bay Area Democratic Movement and it wouldn’t matter one iota to you about any off this if a Democrat was in Abbott’s office and that is the real truth here. It really has nothing to do with gun control; it has everything to do with Democrat control.
