• Cheers to Sterling Stars and JV Sapphires Director Lori Alexander for being selected as one of the three finalists for the Texas Dance Educators Association Director of the Year. Texas is a huge state and Alexander’s star is shining brightly in a state where competition is fierce. As a native of Baytown, Alexander has made her community proud.
• Cheers to Bert Sims who has made it a mission to honor former members of the Baytown Police Department and visit as many graves of deceased officers as he can find. To date, has located about 130 as he works to ensure those officers received the respect they deserve. Sims is still seeking information on 10 officers. Those with information on former officers or family can contact him at email@example.com.
• Jeers to former MLB pitcher Mike Bolsinger who is suing the Astros. This jackwagon claims the team cost him a career after scorching him for four runs in a relief appearance while with Toronto. If anything, the Astros helped end a career that was going nowhere fast. He was just meant to be a Triple A pitcher. After posting a 6.83 E.R.A. in 2016 with the Dodgers in six games, Bolsinger wound up in Toronto and fared little better, posting a 6.31 E.R.A. in 11 games. Lawsuits such as this are typically a cry for attention.
