The Bay Area Heritage Society would like to extend many thanks to everyone who supported and attended “An Evening on the Avenue,” the fundraiser benefiting the Baytown Historical Museum. The sponsors who supported the Bay Area Heritage Society were ExxonMobil, David & Bennie Kadjar, Nancy Mann, BDI Resources, Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital, TSO Texas Avenue, Doug and Inta Walker, Larry Bailey, Bayer Heritage FCU, Ronnie & Cindy Fehring, Steve & Brenda Fess, Fulcher Financial Group, Gil and Helen Gerlich, David & MaryBeth Hrabina, Gene Lenamond & Frankie Brewer, Dr. & Mrs. James Moore, Karla Opryshek, Texas First Bank, Jeff Reilly, Judy Wheat and Darwin & Neva White

It was a fun and informative evening with Elyse Lanier, Billy Burge and our friend Lanny Griffith. It was nice to hear Elyse talk about Mayor Bob and how he loved Baytown.

Billy did a great job explaining and talking about the Bob Lanier Parkway. And last but not least, Lanny Griffith was the moderator for the evening and did an outstanding job with all his spunk and personality.

The Baytown Historical Museum is a great place to visit. It is an educational facility for all third graders in the Goose Creek school district. The museum docents educate the children about the rich history of Baytown and the surrounding area. It is very rewarding to see these same children visit again when they are grown and share their memories about their third grade field trips to the Baytown Historical Museum.

If you have not had a chance to visit, please drop by and look around. We welcome and encourage everyone to visit and really see what the museum is all about.

Again, thanks to everyone who supported the fundraiser and those who continue to support the museum. Your generosity, your support and your volunteerism is always appreciated and vitally important to making the Baytown Historical Museum such an asset to our community.

Baytown Historical Museum Director
