I am writing this letter to every voter in District 128 requesting that you join me in supporting Robert Hoskins to serve us as our Representative. I have known Bob for over 25 years and can therefore speak to his qualifications for the job and his positions on the issues from direct knowledge. Bob is an effective leader, a problem solver, and a dedicated public servant, in addition to being a highly competent and effective manager at Enterprise Products for nearly 40 years. Bob’s service to his constituents include 6 years on the Goose Creek CISD Board of Trustees and 9 years on Baytown City Council where he currently chairs the Finance Committee. He also serves as Baytown’s representative on the Houston-Galveston Area Council, where he sits on the Transportation Policy Committee. That is what I call experience!
In addition to his service on the School Board and City Council, Bob has been on the Board of Directors of the Baytown Chamber of Commerce and has chaired the Chamber’s Education Committee. He has also served on the Baytown/West Chambers County Economic Development Foundation, the Goose Creek CISD Career & Technology Advisory Board, and the Lee College Career & Technology Advisory Board. Bob and his wife, Pam, have been married for 37 years. They have three grown children, and they are the proud grandparents of six. That is what I call dedication to community and family!
In addition to my wife and myself, who else wants Bob in Austin? He has been endorsed by all of our local area mayors, including my Mayor Brandon Capetillo, as well as numerous other elected officials and movers and shakers and many regular community volunteers that reside in District 128 as well as the Baytown Firefighters, the Texas Alliance for Life, the Texas Medical Association, and more. They all want him representing us in Austin. By the way, our District is big, it includes approximately 172,000 people in Baytown, Crosby, Deer Park, Highlands, La Porte, Morgan’s Point, and Pasadena. That is what I call a broad base of support in a big area.
Friends, Bob can bring people together to get things accomplished. I know this because I have seen him do it. Bob will go to Austin to fight the bureaucracy on behalf of the citizens of our District and he will deliver real results in order to advance our conservative local agenda. I believe that he will dedicate himself in Austin to reducing taxes and regulation on private business, so they can expand, create jobs and continue to grow the economy. I know that Bob is committed to our local neighborhood schools, our teachers, and most importantly our children. He will work to provide teachers with the tools they need to better control and manage their classrooms for the benefit of all students, including putting hard caps on classroom size. He will work with his fellow legislators to pass legislation that will prepare our infrastructure for the growth we are experiencing by building new roads, expanding existing roads where needed, and ensuring that our roadways are well maintained. Bob will work with state and local law enforcement agencies to ensure that the resources are available to them to combat illegal immigration and keep East Harris County safe. That is what I call a platform of work.
Finally, Bob is a strong pro-life conservative, a big-time supporter of the 2nd amendment, and an advocate for providing our law enforcement and first responders with the resources they need to keep our communities safe and get the emergency services we need when we need them. I am a living example of the last one! That is what I call essential.
So, this is what I am asking you to do – get involved – donate to his campaign if you can (I already have), get the word out to your friends and neighbors about why Bob is our best choice, and most importantly VOTE. Early voting starts next Tuesday, February 18 and Election Day is Tuesday, March 3. Please vote early.
