Joyce Capps Collins passed away peacefully January 21, 2020. The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, 3116 N. Alexander Dr., Baytown, TX 77520. Her service will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. E. Richard Steel and Dr. Mark Broussard officiating.  Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521. Joyce Capps Collins, 85, of Baytown passed away peacefully January 21, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 5, 1934 in Bedias, Texas to Arnett and Mozelle Capps. They eventually moved to Baytown where she attended school and later graduated from Cedar Bayou High School. 

Joyce was a lifelong member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church. She also worked as a part-time teller at Baytown State Bank. 

She enjoyed cooking, collecting recipes and cookbooks and watching the Houston Astros, but her greatest passion was her family.

She looked forward to holidays and family events.  (Mama C) as she was lovingly called by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren had a kind and giving heart and she loved spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnett and Mozelle Capps. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Leland B. Collins;  her daughters and sons-in-law, Tara and Rodney Dickson of Anahuac, Texas and Trecia and Steve Hasley of Tomball, Texas; sister, Darlene Barnett of Baytown and brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Shari Capps of Baytown;   her grand-children include Tiffany (Chris) Bowden of Leander, Texas; Robby (Afton) Dickson of Anahuac, Texas, Matt (Ashley) Hasley of Daphne, Alabama and Justin (Amanda Sue) Hasley of Brandon, Mississippi; great grandchildren are Kendal and Kylar Bowden of Leander, Texas, Eli and Abigail Hasley of Daphne, Alabama, Brooks and Brax Dickson of Anahuac, Texas and Rhett Hasley of Brandon, Mississippi. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thanks go to her friends from Cedar Bayou Baptist Church for their many prayers, cards and visits.  Also, to Traditions Hospice and Visiting Angels for their care, love and support.

Honorary Pallbearers are Brett and Lance Barnett, Jeff Capps and Rusty Lamb.
