Milton Frank Kellner passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on October 8, 2019.  He was born November 2, 1942 on a Brazos River farm near Orchard, Texas to Frank and Pearl Kellner.  He graduated from Orchard High School in 1961 while lettering for four years in football, basketball, and track and field. He was an All-District performer in football and advanced to the state track meet in shot put and discus.

Milton earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&I University where he lettered in football for two years in 1964 and 1965 earning All-Lone Star Conference honors. While in Kingsville he met Laura Ward and they married after graduation.

They started their teaching and coaching careers in Port Arthur, Texas and then joined the Robert E. Lee Gander coaching family in the fall of 1969.  They made their home in Baytown raising two children and being very involved in all of their activities.

Milton was a dedicated Christian and blessed to have been a member of Grace Bible Church in Baytown for 47 years where he served as a Deacon for the congregation.

Milton’s greatest joy was being a husband, father and grandfather as well as coaching the Lee Gander football team to many victories in the 1970s and 80s. He liked watching football games and traveling with family and friends, but his favorite place to be was on the porch of their country home in East Texas.

Milton is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Pearl Kellner and survived by his brother Russell Kellner.  He is also survived by his wife Laura of more than 52 years, son Martin Kellner and wife Julie, daughter Leslie McAlee and husband Chris, grandchildren, Emily Kellner, Luke Kellner, Addysen McAlee, Reese McAlee and Grant McAlee.

A visitation will be held Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m., both at Navarre Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Bibles for Asia Ministry in care of Grace Bible Church, 624 Massey Tompkins Rd., Baytown, Texas 77521.
