Betty Bob (Liza) Storm Walmsley

1927-2019

Mrs. George Lee Walmsley passed away quietly in her home on August 11, 2019, comforted by love.  She was known as Liza to her husband and friends, Betty Bob to her parents, sisters and their children and Vinnie to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty Bob was born on September 10, 1927 in Houston to Alice Phipps and Robert Theodore Storm.  After attending Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston, she graduated from Rice University in 1948.  There Betty Bob met and married her husband of 63 years, George Lee Walmsley.  They raised four children in Baytown where George practiced medicine for 40 years.

Betty Bob embraced motherhood with courage, grace, strength of character and a sense of humor.  Together they would nurture their children with faith, love, perseverance and adventure.  She was a long time member of Trinity Episcopal Church, the Service League and served as a member on the Baytown Library Advisory Board.

Betty Bob is preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents and her three sisters.

She is survived by her children;  George Storm Walmsley, his wife Jill, and their son Thayer Storm, his wife Aubri; Robert Phipps Walmsley, his wife Katie, and their sons Andrew Robert, his wife Kasey, and their son Gatlin, Christian Phipps and George William; McKim Walmsley Rowe, her husband Tom, and their sons Theodore Walmsley, Thomas Morton, Timothy Christian and Taylor Gardner; and Caroline Walmsley Zeringer, her husband Eric, and daughters Alexandra Farrar Dravis, her husband Matt, and their children Levi Cole, Lillian Clare, Lennox Farrar and Lucie Ruth; Addison Phipps Lee, her husband Cody; Aime’ Alice; and the many nieces and nephews who loved her.
